Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The Nanka Fukushima Kenjinkai Collection contains materials depicting activities of the members of Nanka Fukushima Kenjinkai. Materials included are photographs from 1908-2010, membership directories, Rafu Shimpo newspaper articles by Hiroko Aihara, a DVD of a Japanese television program about Fukushima immigrants and Okei, the first Japanese woman to immigrate to the United States, a book by Yasuji Sato, entitled “加州と福島縣人” [= California and the immigrants from Fukushima].

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series:

This subseries contains mostly materials from the Nakano family which were collected during their incarceration at the Jerome and Tule Lake camps. There are his elementary school materials collected and created by George Nakano when he was attending a Japanese school in the Tule Lake camp, which reflect wartime Japanese education. There are also two directories from before the Nakano family was incarcerated.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: Included are items and pages from a scrapbook compiled by Kiyoshi Uyekawa while incarcerated at the Tule Lake camp. He collected clippings from "Information bulletin," "Tulean dispatch," "Daily Tulean dispatch," and "Tulean dispatch daily" and other materials issued in the camp.
